On Wednesday, April, 25 pastor of New Life Church Vyacheslav Goncharenko held a meeting for the church leaders. He spoke on the subject of leadership and spiritual growth that includes being well organized, self-discipline and able to keep everything in order. Only adults, not children, are capable enough to do these things. Using the biblical example, the pastor showed that good organization influences the anointing in a positive way. He recalled the story when Jesus fed 5000 people, except women and children, with 5 loaves. Before the miracle took place the Lord had suggested the whole crowd be divided into groups of 50!Further, the pastor noted that it is impossible to require the congregation to grow up spiritually unless the spiritual teachers grow up. He reminded the leaders of their personal responsibility for their people.
Pastor Vyacheslav reminded the ministers that the only person whom the Bible calls a man after God’s heart was David who actually left behind his contemporaries because he lived by God’s grace, not by the law. Not only he tried to be obedient to the Lord but also he expressed his own initiative. “I’d like our church to get rid of the slave mentality. I’d like you, being my partners, not only to look for my instructions but also to express your own views and suggestions on how to improve our ministry. I want you to be like David, predicting the desires of God’s heart!” – declared the pastor.
In conclusion Vyacheslav Goncharenko shared a story that he had heard at the summit “A million of leaders” held by John Maxwell. The meaning of the story stated that if a pastor or a spiritual teacher doesn’t will to deal with problems by himself but puts off until a future time and looks for the problems to be solved by themselves this may lead to sad results, even up to the breakdown of the church.
The meeting was closed by a prayer for growing up in all aspects of the ministry.
